1. Acceptance of Terms

The CHAI Community (“Community”) is organized by Kytabu Company Limited (“Organizer”). By joining, accessing, or participating in the Community (online or in-person), you (“Member”) agree to these Terms. Participation constitutes full acceptance; if you do not agree, you must not participate.

2. Eligibility

Members must be at least 18 years old.
Registration via official CHAI platforms is required.
By registering, you confirm you are a competent adult and agree to these Terms.

3. Purpose of the Community

The CHAI Community exists to connect innovators, creators, and learners across Africa who are passionate about Artificial Intelligence. The Community provides a collaborative environment for discussion, learning, events, and shared opportunities in AI and related fields.

4. Member Conduct

Members agree to:

Engage respectfully and thoughtfully with others.
Celebrate diversity across identities, skills, and backgrounds.
Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or harmful behavior.Use CHAI spaces (online or in person) in ways that uphold dignity, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Unacceptable behavior includes:

Violence, threats, harassment, or discriminatory language.
Unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
Disruption of events or online discussions.
Plagiarism, spam, or misrepresentation.
Violations may result in suspension or removal from the Community at the Organizer’s discretion.

5. Intellectual Property and Content Sharing

Members retain ownership of original ideas, content, and materials they share.
By posting or contributing within the Community, Members grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to share or promote this content for educational, promotional, or community-building purposes (with credit to the Member).
Members must only upload or share content they have the rights to use.

6. Data Protection and Privacy

Personal information collected (e.g., name, email, affiliation) will only be used for Community administration, communication, and improvement.
The Organizer will comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act and related regulations.
Data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as necessary to run the Community (e.g., partner platforms).
By joining, Members consent to the use of their data for these purposes.

7. Audio/Visual Consent

By participating in events (physical or virtual), Members consent to being photographed, recorded, or streamed.
These materials may be used for educational, promotional, or advocacy purposes by the Organizer and partners.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Organizer will not be liable for damages arising from participation in the Community, including use of third-party platforms, content, or events.
Members agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer from claims or liability arising from participation.

9. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Nairobi under the Kenyan Arbitration Act.
Class actions or representative claims are not permitted.

10. General Provisions

By joining, Members confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
The Organizer may update, suspend, or terminate the Community (or these Terms) at any time.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
